October Birthday Apple, Maine

From Haiku Diaries
The old apple tree
starts to shed her curling leaves —
I think she dreads snow.

I’ve been going through old images while rehabbing a Mac and I found this one. I love the color and the way the raindrops bead up and drip off the fruit. Regina and I were visiting Erin for her birthday at Bowdoin College when she was a senior. I saw the tree Saturday while we were driving the back roads and borrowed her camera (a nice Fuji X-T1) to photograph it on an early Sunday morning. I shot it fairly wide for a shallow depth of field with just the apple and few surrounding branches in focus.
