On route 250 heading into West Virginia, the 2-lane highway passes over several mountains before entering the most beautiful valley in Virginia, the Bluegrass Valley of Highland County. As you climb up the  valley’s west side a few short miles before crossing the state line, there is a small gravel road on the right that leads to this vista. I first discovered it driving my daughter Rachel back and forth to Camp Hidden Meadows during the the summers she was a camper and then a counselor.  Now I visit this spot every time I drive to and from West Virginia. It always gives me peace.
