Sandy Harbor, Lake Tahoe

Sunset, Sandy Harbor, Lake Tahoe

I’m out here in California at a UCSF conference on primary care. Since Erin and Rachel are both in California this summer,  it seemed a good place to spend a CME week making sure that I am not hopelessly behind on my primary care skills. After I used my education benefit to pay the registration fee I realized it was not in San Francisco but was in Lake Tahoe. What a hardship. I’m in a nice resort in the mountains near north Lake Tahoe and it is beautiful- much nicer than South Lake Tahoe which is most notable for about 15 miles of continuous strip malls and bumper to bumper traffic.

Lake Tahoe is a huge summer boating destination and as I drove around the lake (takes about three hours) I saw hundreds of speedboats. I finally found this spot with no speed boats and came back to make this sunset photograph. These are the true colors, one of the most vivid sunsets I have seen in several years.
